赵东明博士，钦哲基金会2014年度杰出佛学博士论文奖获奖者

　　最近，钦哲基金会揭晓了2013－2014年度杰出佛学博士论文奖获奖论文和作者。论文作者为赵东明博士， 他的获奖论文题目为“转依理论研究－以《成唯识论》及窥基《成唯识论述记》为中心”，该论文获得评委会成员的一致提名通过。 赵博士于2011年毕业于台湾大学哲学系，目前任教于上海华东师范大学，他将获得五千美元的奖金。

窥基，唐代，师从玄奘，其着作《成唯识论述记》为本次论文研究重点之一。

　　赵东明的论文旨在研究《成唯识论》及窥基《成唯识论述记》中的“转依”理论。根据《成唯识论》的说法，“转依”有四种义别，即：“能转道”、“所转依”、“所转舍”、“所转得”。该论文特别将焦点放在“转依”四义中“所转依”的“所依”与“能转道”之“无分别智”这二部份。并以护法“心、心所”认识论的“四分”说（“相分”、“见分”、“自证分”、“证自证分”）为问题意识，切入探究其间的关系。

　　赵博士对钦哲基金会和论文评审委员会对于他的论文的肯定表示了由衷的感谢。并表示将“继续精进努力对佛法的研究，以期贡献社会，利益众生”。

　　评审委员会成员之一的刘国威教授说，“赵博士的论文对中国唯识派的思想提供了深度的哲学分析。” 另外一名评审委员北京大学的萨尔吉教授指出，赵博士的论文是“一个非常好的研究，具有深度的原着分析和具说服力的辩论。令人增加了对中印佛学的理解”。

　　宗萨钦哲仁波切说过， 学术界是佛法世界的“制衡”的重要组成部分。钦哲基金会于2013年六月在亚洲区设立杰出佛学博士论文奖，于2014年六月又在欧洲区设立了同一个奖项， 此奖项在亚洲区和欧洲区的佛学领域轮流颁发， 每年颁发给一位杰出的佛学博士论文奖得主。参选论文必须在最近两学年完成，而且须以佛学主要语言写成的原始研究为基础，并对理解其研究的主题、佛典有显着贡献。

　　In 2013, Khyentse Foundation announced the establishment of the Khyentse Foundation Award for Outstanding PhD Dissertations in Buddhist Studies. KF is pleased to announce the winner of the first award, Dr. Chao Tung-Ming of National Taiwan University. Dr. Chao was selected by concensus of the award selection committee members, and will be given a prize of $5,000.Dr. Chao graduated with a PhD from University of Taiwan and now teaches in East Normal University in Shanghai.

　　Dr. Chao's dissertation is on the Chinese Yogācāra School of Buddhism, entitled "A Study of Fundamental Transformation in the Cheng Weishi Lun and Kuiji’s Commentaries." It focuses primarily on “the basis to be transformed,” which is basis, and “the path that operates transformation,” which is non-discriminating wisdom. He delves into Dharmapala’s view of the four aspects theory of cognition. It is a rigorous and in-depth analysis that appeals greatly to Buddhist academics.

　　Dr. Chao sent his wholehearted appreciation to KF and the selection committee for their acknowledgement of his work, and said that he would continue to work diligently to further his research in Buddhism, to contribute to the society and benefit sentient beings.

　　Professor Liu Kuo-Wei, one of the selection committee members, said that “Mr. Chao's dissertation provides in-depth philosophical analysis on the thoughts of the Chinese Yogācāra.” Professor Saerji, another selection committee member, remarked that Dr. Chao’s dissertation is “a good study, with deep textual analysis and convincing arguments, that increases our understanding of Sino-Indian Buddhism.”

　　Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche has said that academia is an important part of the "checks and balances" of the world of Buddhadharma.

　　One KF Dissertation Award is presented every year to an outstanding PhD candidate with a dissertation in the field of Buddhist studies. The awards are alternated annually between those written in universities in China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan and those written in Europe. The dissertations must be written during the two academic years prior to the nomination and must be based on original research in the relevant primary language(s). They should significantly advance our understanding of the subject or Buddhist scriptures studied.

　　The European Dissertation Award was recently announced. Accredited institutions that offer PhD programs in Buddhist Studies or Religious Studies in any European country (including the UK) are invited to nominate one dissertation that was completed during the academic year 2012-13 or 2013-14.
